Pirates Face Princeton in Final Non-Conference Match of Season

South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall men's soccer looks to close out their non-conference schedule with a win when they travel to Princeton, New Jersey, on Tuesday to take on Princeton. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+, which requires a subscription. 
This will be the 34^th all-time meeting between the two teams, the last two of which ended in victories for the Pirates.

SERIES HISTORY

Seton Hall and Princeton last met on October 10, 2023, to close out the Pirates non-conference schedule. The Pirates got the offense started early, getting on the board inside the first 10 minutes of action with a Sam Bjork off of a Jared Smith flick in the 8^th minute. The Tigers equalized in the 15^th minute, but Andrea Borg launched a shot from the top of the box and scored a top-shelf goal in the 21^st minute. After a slow start to the second half for both teams, Tim Ströbeck secured a 3-1 victory for the Pirates with an 80^th minute strike.
This will be the 34th all-time matchup between the two programs, the first of which came in 1986.
Seton Hall is 13-15-5 all-time against Princeton with a 2-1 record in their last three matches.

SCOUTING PRINCETON

Princeton holds an 8-5-0 record on the season.
The Tigers have a 3-2 record against in games against common opponents
Junior forward Daniel Ittycheria lead the Tigers in goals with five, while junior midfielder Jack Jasinski leads the team in assists with three.
This season, Princeton has split 12 of its 13 starts between two netminders. Senior goalkeeper Khamari Hadaway leads the team with 8 starts and 20 saves, alongside one clean sheet, 11 goals allowed and 4-3-0 record in those matches. Sophomore Andrew Samuels has picked up the second-most starts for the Tigers this season with four total, but has appeared in five games. Samuels holds a 3-2 record with two clean sheets, three total goals allowed and 10 saves on the season
The Red Storm have outshot their opponents 179-110 on the season.

PIRATES SECURE SPOT IN BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFFS WITH 1-0 WIN OVER XAVIER

Freshman Til Kauschke launched a shot from the top of the box in the 6th minute that barely clanged off the crossbar and kept the game scoreless. Kauschke would not be denied however, as in the 39th minute he converted a penalty kick caused by a Musketeer handball to put the Pirates up 1-0.
in the 74th minute, the Pirates' Agustin Resch nearly scored a second for the Pirates goal off a corner kick. However, the Musketeers headed the ball off on the goal line, quashing a strong Pirates chance.
Matias Molina registered his fourth clean sheet of the season two saves, pushing his save total to 21.
The Pirates had four shots on goal to the Musketeers' two.
Liam Guske, Jared Smith, Til Kauschke and Jon Vignir Pétursson have started every game for the Pirates.
This was the 10th matchup between the two programs, the first of which came in 1979.
Seton Hall is now 2-7-1 all-time against Xavier, with the Pirates registering their first win against the Musketeers since 2017.
With the win, the Pirates secured their first 10+ win regular season since 2005.
