Friars Rally for Two Late, No. 19 Pirates Fall at Home
9/18/2021 10:28:00 PM | Men's Soccer
How it Happened
After a relatively quiet start to the game, the Pirates finally broke through in the 27th minute. Camil Koreichi (Paris, France) made a fine play to stop a Friar in the attacking end before dribbling toward the Providence box. There he found Marin who made a move to get past a Providence defender and curve a left-footed strike past the Friar keeper and in for the opening goal.

With the Pirates leading at the half, Providence would equalize in the second period. Luis Garcia would find a streaking Davis Smith on a cross who would head in the game-tying goal and level things at one.
In the 70th minute, The Hall would retake the lead, this time off the head of Almeida Sundell. After Raz Amir (Israel) was able to breakdown a few Friars in the box he laid off a pass for Denis Kelmendi (Falkenberg, Sweden) who crossed a ball in to penalty area where Almeida Sundell got his head on the ball to find the back of the net and put the Pirates up, 2-1.
