Have a heart-to-heart with representatives from the American Heart Association who will be visiting the friendly confines of Owen T. Carroll Field to chat with fans about the importance of heart health.
LAST TIME OUT
The Providence Friars scored two late goals to take down the Pirates who had not fallen at Owen. T. Carroll Field in 682 days. JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) and Mattias Almeida Sundell (Sweden) tallied for The Hall in the setback. After a relatively quiet start to the game, the Pirates finally broke through in the 27th minute when Camil Koreichi (Paris, France) found Marin who made a move to get past a Providence defender and curve a left-footed strike past the Friar keeper for the opening goal.

With the Pirates leading at the half, Providence would equalize in the second period and level things at one. In the 70th minute, The Hall would retake the lead, this time off the head of Almeida Sundell with assists from Raz Amir (Israel) and Denis Kelmendi (Falkenberg, Sweden).

Trailing 2-1 in the 82nd minute, the Friars were able to rally for two goals just over a minute apart to take the lead and eventually the game, 3-2.
SCOUTING – Marquette (3-4-0, 0-1-0)
- After opening the season with three wins, the Golden Eagles are currently riding a four-game losing streak and sit at 3-4-0 on the season and 0-1-0 in the BIG EAST. Most recently, Marquette is coming off a 1-0 setback at Villanova last Saturday. The Wildcats scored in the 28th minute and managed to hold on for the victory despite being outshot by the Golden Eagles, 8-1, in the second half.
- Last season's BIG EAST Freshman of the Year leads Marquette offensively this season with two goals and assist for a team-leading five points. Harvey Read and Edrey Caceres each have four points while 2020 Second Team All-American Lukas Sunesson has a goal to his credit.
- Chandler Hallwood has taken all the minutes for the Golden Eagles between the pipes this season. Hallwood has 20 saves through seven games with a shutout to his credit.
- The Pirates lead the all-time series 7-6-3 with the Pirates taking each of the previous three matchups between these two teams. Last season, the Pirates handled then-No. 17 Marquette, 4-1, in their first BIG EAST Tournament appearance since 2012 in the BIG EAST Semifinals last season. The Pirates did their scoring in bunches picking up two goals in the match's first 10 minutes and goals in both the 59th and 60th minute to advance them to their first BIG EAST Championship Final since 2004 where they would defeat then-No. 2 Georgetown, 2-1. Maurice Williams tallied twice for the Pirates, once in each half, while CJ Tibbling and Mattias Almeida Sundell also scored for The Hall. James Boote had two helpers in the victory, as well.

NEWS & NOTES
- Twelve different Pirates have now found the back of the net this season with 25 assists on 19 total goals. The tallies from 12 different players matches last season's total.
- As of Sept. 22, The Hall currently ranks sixth in the nation and leads the BIG EAST in total goals (19). The Pirates also sit at the top of the conference and second in the nation in total assists (25).
- Fourth in the nation with five assists and three goals to his name, Johannes Pex has a team leading 11 points through seven games. Pex tallied twice and pick up an assist across wins against Delaware and NC State earning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honor (9/6). The junior was also named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week. Pex was also selected to the conference's weekly honor roll following his three assists against NJIT (9/10).

- Kelmendi each picked up their respective fourth helpers on the season. Five different Pirates have at least three assists to their credit: Johannes Pex, JP Marin, Raz Amir, Denis Kelmendi and Jordan Jowers.
- The Pirates were picked second in the BIG EAST Conference Preseason Coaches Poll as the reigning BIG EAST champions were awarded 93 points including three first place votes. Georgetown took the top spot in the poll edging the Pirates by just five points while Creighton, the third team picked, was awarded 74 points.
- CJ Tibbling was selected as the conference's Preseason Co-Offensive Player of the Year and was a unanimous selection for the Preseason All-BIG EAST squad. Tibbling is coming off a 2020 Second Team All-America selection as well as First Team All-BIG EAST honors. On the offensive end, Tibbling led the Pirates with seven goals and 17 points on the season to go along with three assists. With his seven tallies, Tibbling ranked second in the BIG EAST and 20th in the country in goals scored.
- Luca Dahn was honored as the BIG EAST's Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot Preseason All-BIG EAST team. Dahn was awarded a 2020 Second Team All-America selection as well as First Team All-BIG EAST honors. In his first year in a Seton Hall uniform, Dahn logged over 1500 minutes for The Hall and was on the pitch for all but nine minutes throughout the campaign. Despite lining up as a center back, Dahn also scored twice for The Hall while registering 12 shots on net, second best on the team.
