How it Happened
After having earned a free kick from about 15 yards outside the Pirate penalty area, Edrey Caceres stepped up to the free kick and successfully found the back of the net for the opening goal of the match. For Caceres, it was his second tally of the season.
In the 34th minute, Zyan Andrade found Lukas Sunesson in the box where Sunesson was able to get his head on it to double the Golden Eagle Lead before the end of the first half. The Pirates were able to outshoot Marquette 11-4 in the first half and held an 8-0 advantage on corners but entered the half trailing 2-0.
Turning Point
In the second half, Caceres struck again, this time on a pass from Andrade in the box. For Andrade, it was his second helper of the night and third of the season.
With time winding down in the game, the Pirates were able to get on the scoreboard with 10 seconds remaining. Mans Saebbo (Gothenburg, Sweden) laid a ball off for Andrea Borg (Sliema, Malta) on the near sideline where Borg crossed a ball into the Marquette box. There Albuquerque was able to get his head on the cross and beat the Golden Eagle keeper to cut the lead to, 3-1.
