Pirates Burst For Four Goals in Road Win at NJIT
9/24/2019 9:56:00 PM | Men's Soccer
Koreichi's brace and Macleod's goal were firsts for both with the Pirates. Freshman Andrea Borg (Sliema, Malta) scored the team's fourth of goal of the night, his second of the season.
Turning Point
Macleod's free kick goal in the 40th minute, a shot over an NJIT wall from outside the box, put The Hall on top for good, but the Pirates had to withstand an early second-half flurry from NJIT, which forced junior goalkeeper Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) to make a couple of difficult saves. The Pirates then shifted the momentum in their favor, and in the 72nd minute, a big NJIT turnover resulted in graduate student Stephen Elias (Rye, N.Y.) getting the ball just outside the box. He crossed over to a wide-open Koreichi who blasted home a goal to the upper left corner to give the Pirates the commanding two-goal advantage.
