Pirates Suffer 4-0 Setback At Bucknell
9/13/2015 12:00:00 AM | Men's Soccer
LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hall men's soccer team fired a season-high 20 shots in a 4-0 setback at Bucknell on Sunday afternoon at Emmitt Field. The Pirates fall to 0-4-1 with the defeat, while the Bison improve to 3-2-1.
Bucknell scored less than three minutes into the contest, the first of four goals in the first 31 minutes of the match that helped the Bison to build a lead that proved insurmountable for The Hall. Sebastiaan Blickman tallied twice for BU, while Chris Thorsheim had a goal and two assists.
The Hall fired 20 shots with eight on target, both season-highs, but could not solve Bucknell keeper Mike Lansing. Dating back to a 2013 contest in South Orange, Lansing has 19 saves in two shutout performances against the Pirates.
Turning Point
At the 2:21 mark of the opening frame, Bucknell won a corner that was served in by Dan Bank before eventually finding the head of Blickman to give Bucknell an early 1-0 lead. The goal held up as the game-winner, as the Bison scored three more times in the first half.
