Perez's Six-RBI Day Powers Pirates Past George Mason, 13-6

How It Happened – vs. George Mason
- After the first inning, the Pirates found themselves down 4-0 after allowing a pair of two-RBI hits to George Mason hitters.
- In the bottom of the second, The Hall lodged its response. After loading the bases, Andrea Perez logged her second home run of the weekend with a grand slam to tie the game at 4-4.
- After a clean top of the third in the field, the Pirates added to their lead in the bottom of the frame. Caroline Hobbes drove in one on a single, while Perez notched an additional two RBI on a double to make it a 7-4 lead.
- A Naya Martinez groundout made it an 8-4 game, but George Mason responded quickly by scoring two in the fifth to make it an 8-6 game.
- The two sides would not remain close, however, as the Pirates' offense surged again in the bottom of the fifth. After a two-RBI single from Angelina Benitez, Martinez drove a 1-1 pitch over the wall in left centerfield for a three-run home run, extending Seton Hall's lead to 13-6.
- The Pirates shut the door in the final innings thanks to five strikeouts from Kyra Kreuscher, securing the 13-6 victory and an undefeated run at the Paladin Invitational.
- The Pirates move to 6-7 on the season.
- The Hall is now 4-2 all-time against George Mason.
- With a two-hit, two-RBI showing, Benitez logged her 20th hit of the season and her 11th RBI.
- Martinez recorded her second home run of the season.
- Hobbes recorded her third multi-hit game of the season.
- Perez recorded her third home run of the season and a career-high six RBI.
What's Next
The Pirates will open BIG EAST play at home with a three-game series against Creighton beginning on Friday, March 6. First pitch for the opening game is slated for 2 p.m.
