How It Happened (Game One)
- With only two games left in their season, The Hall and its seniors wanted to create one more lasting memory for the fans. They acted on that promise in the first inning when Erin Howard doubled to score Andrea Perez to take an early 1-0 lead.
- While the Pirates' offense entered a minor rut after taking the lead, Kyra Kreuscher and the Pirates' defense shut down the Gaels at the plate. Through four innings, Iona was held scoreless by Seton Hall, striking out three times and getting caught stealing twice.
- Eventually, in the fourth inning, the Pirates cracked the offensive code once again. After getting two runners on with one out, Christina Ginex launched a home run over the wall in right centerfield to make it a four-run game, 4-0.
- Iona would finally land on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth, but the Pirates snatched the run back on a double by Kreuscher in the bottom of the frame. The senior closed out the game on four batters, securing a complete game win and the 5-1 win for The Hall.
- Iona struck first in the opening frame of game two, taking a 1-0 lead after an RBI single. The Hall had a chance to even the game up after loading the bases with two outs in the second, but a groundout to first left Seton Hall in a 1-0 hole through two.
- While the Pirates' offense began to stall out once again, the Gaels snatched all momentum away from the home side. Over the next four innings, the visitors plated six runs, including a four in the sixth inning, to extend The Hall's deficit to 7-0.
- Seton Hall snatched two runs back before the end of the game, but they could score any more, falling 7-2 in the final game of the season.
- The Pirates end the season 19-30 overall and 6-18 in BIG EAST play.
- With starts in both games, Angelina Benitez and Andrea Perez became the only two players to start every game for The Hall this season.
- With a hit in each game, Benitez has recorded a hit in 42 of 49 games this season.
- With her second home run of the season today, Ginex eclipsed 10 RBI on the season.
- Kreuscher recorded her first multi-hit game of the season.
- Martinez recorded her eighth multi-hit game of the season
