LAST TIME OUT
- The Pirates traveled up to Providence, Rhode Island, to take on the Providence Friars. For Seton Hall, they needed a win to keep their postseason hopes alive. However, The Hall had not won at Providence since the 2001 season.
- After Devin Armstrong steered away multiple attempts, Giacomo Mana scored the opening goal on a cross by Til Kauschke to put The Hall in front 1-0. A second-half red card on the Friars sent the opposition down to ten men, allowing the Pirates to hunt for another goal. While Seton Hall did not find a second goal, Armstrong and his defense shut down the Providence's final attempts to secure the shutout victory.
- This will be the 43rd ever meeting between the two programs.
- The Pirates are 23-16-3 all-time against Villanova.
