After a slow first half, the Pirates found their offensive groove in the second half when Konstatin Donalies headed in a Hugo Gerbore free kick to put the Pirates up 1-0 in the 73rd minute. The lead would not last however, as the Huskies responded with two unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes to hand the Pirates a 2-1 loss.
With the loss, Seton Hall moves to 7-3-7 on the season, 3-1-4 in BIG EAST play and miss the BIG EAST Tournament.
After celebrating the Pirates' seniors ahead of their final regular season match, The Hall found themselves under immense defensive pressure early. Through 15 minutes of play, the Huskies held the Pirates shotless while launching four of their own, forcing the home side's defense to scramble. After settling in, however, the Pirates found their way on the defensive end for the remaining 30 minutes of the half. Despite only logging two shots before the break, Seton Hall kept the match tied at 0-0 as both sides regrouped.
As the clock began to run in the second half, things appeared to be the inverse of the first half. By the 70th minute, the Pirates had tallied up four shots to UConn's zero, as the Pirates sat inches off multiple potential goals. All that pressure finally paid dividends for Seton Hall when the clock hit the 73rd minute. Off a Hugo Gerbore corner kick, Konstantin Donalies redirected the Frenchman's kick off his head to the far post, giving the Pirates an essential 1-0 lead.

As the crowd grew excited with the hope of a postseason soccer berth, the Pirates pushed for another goal. Yet, despite having the momentum, the Pirates' postseason odds vanished within ten minutes. The Huskies scored two unanswered goals in the 78th and 81st minutes to go in front with under 10 minutes remaining in the game. Despite late substitutions with the hopes of making a difference, the Pirates could not find an equalizer on their three remaining shots, resulting in a 2-1 Seton Hall loss.
