South Orange, N.J. - The Pirates wrapped up their non-conference slate on Tuesday night, playing Army to a 1-1 draw at Owen. T. Carroll Field. Johannes Pex (Stephasposching, Germany) scored his second goal of the season in the 58th minute to level the match.

How it Happened
Seton Hall had the bulk of the chances, and opportunities came early and often. Of the Pirates' seven first half shots, five of them came within a three minute span midway through the opening 45 minutes. The most dangerous chance came from Andrea Borg (Sliema, Malta) who ripped a shot from close range on Army goalkeeper Josh Taylor, who was forced to make a save.

Army would find the scoreboard first in the 56^th minute, as Nick Atkinson scored off a free kick to give the Black Knights a 1-0 advantage. However, the lead would not last long. Just two minutes later, Pex received a pass down the right side from Quenzi Huerman (Vannes, France). The senior swung a low-liner through the penalty area and inside the back post to even the match at 1-1.

Pex would threaten several times to score again, as he registered three more shots on goal over the final stretch of the match. However, Pex and the Pirates were unable to convert on any late chances.

Inside the Numbers

Seton Hall held outshot Army 18-5 for the match, the Pirates' largest shot advantage in a match since outshooting Virginia Tech 24-9 in the 2020 NCAA Tournament.
The Pirates also held a 10-2 edge in shots on goal.
Pex's five total shots and four shots on goal are both new career-highs.
JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) was second on the team with four total shots, while Huerman had three and Borg had a pair.
Seton Hall had the edge in corner kicks, 5-1.
