Omaha, Neb. – The Pirates came up short on the road against Creighton, 3-1, on Saturday night. CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden) tallied for the Pirates in the setback.

How it Happened
After a back-and-forth first half, Creighton was able to break through on the scoreboard late in the first period. In the 40^th minute, the Pirates were called for a handball just outside their own penalty area resulting in a Bluejay freekick. Creighton's Callum Watson stepped up to bury the set piece in the upper corner of the net for the game's first tally and to send the Bluejays into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Turning Point
For most of the second half, the Pirates were the aggressors, outshooting the hosts 8-5 and earning three corners while holding Creighton without. However, in the 83^rd minute, the Bluejays were able to double their lead. Alejandro Maillet sent Manu Toledano through on a pass taken into the Pirate box. Toledano was able to beat the Pirates to the near post and find the back of the net to increase the lead to two.

Less than three minutes later, the Pirates were able to answer off the foot of Tibbling. James Boote (Southampton, England) feed Ian Albuquerque (São Paulo, Brazil) who was able to send a cross that was knocked down by a Bluejay defender, the ricochet was knocked in by Tibbling to cut the Bluejay lead in half.

Creighton would add an insurance tally just 49 seconds later when Diego Guitierrez found the back of the net off a Miguel Ventura helper for a 3-1 final.

Inside the Numbers

Pirates held advantages in shots, 14-10, shots on net, 7-4 and produced six corners to Creighton's four.
The Hall played the final 12 minutes down a man after being assessed a red card following a replay review on the field.
Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) made one save in the setback.
With the setback, the Pirates move to 5-7-3 on the season and 1-6-1 in BIG EAST play.

For Tibbling, the goal was his fourth of the season and 18^th as a Pirate.
Boote's assist was his third of the season while Albuquerque's helper was the first of his career.
