
The Hall Hosts Creighton For Senior Weekend

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team (18-26, 4-8 BIG EAST) will look to make a move in the BIG EAST standings this weekend when it hosts its final home series of the 2018 campaign. The Pirates will welcome third-place Creighton (19-12, 4-2 BIG EAST) to Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field for a three-game set beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon and concluding with a single-game on Sunday, also at noon. All three contests will air with a limited one-camera production on the Pirate Sports Network.

This weekend will mark the final home weekend for The Hall's four-member senior class: Alannah Basile, Sara Foster, Alyssa Prukop and Alexis Walkden. The quartet will be honored in a pregame ceremony prior to Sunday's contest.
Following the home series with Creighton, The Hall will continue a late-season league stretch and head to Villanova for a three-game set from April 28-29.

- Basile has made 50 career appearances as a hitter and 29 in the circle. She has racked up 39.2 innings pitched and nine total hits, including three home runs and nine RBIs
- Foster is a career .267 hitter who has made 155 appearances and 127 starts. In her career she has recorded 81 hits and scored 63 runs, adding 19 doubles, 23 RBIs, 37 walks and 12 steals
- Prukop has totaled 60 starts in 105 career appearances. The versatile utility player has totaled 31 hits, 11 runs scored, 11 doubles, a home run and 23 RBIs in her career
- Walkden will go down as one of the most decorated players in program history. The 2017 BIG EAST Player of the Year is top-five in program history in every major offensive category, holding SHU records for runs scored (142) and walks (110) while placing second in home runs (49), RBIs (150) and doubles (42). She is a career .355 hitter with a lifetime .471 on-base percentage and .706 slugging percentage.
- The Hall is coming off a heartbreaker in midweek action on Thursday, falling at Lehigh by a score of 6-4 on a two-run walk-off homer after rallying from down 4-0
- In their most recent BIG EAST action, The Hall dropped two of three at St. John's which included a 9-8 victory in game one of the series
- Payton Beaver (Lake Stevens, Wash.) leads the Pirates with a .312 average, followed closely by Walkden at .311
- Walkden ranks second in the BIG EAST with eight home runs and has added 25 runs scored and 22 RBIs during her senior season
- Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) leads the Pirates and is top-five in the league with 29 RBIs, followed by Beaver with 25 driven in
- In the circle, Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) holds a team-best 3.32 ERA in 109.2 innings
- The Bluejays are 19-12 overall this season, but have played an abbreviated BIG EAST schedule due to a pair of series cancellations and are 4-2 in conference action
- Creighton most recently swept a doubleheader against UMKC on Tuesday
- Ashley Cantu leads CU with a .385 average, while Sam Crowley and Kelli Finan have each hit five home runs and combined for 41 RBIs
- Bryana Clark is CU's top hurler with a 2.91 ERA in 79.1 innings, while Kiele Miller has 98 strikeouts over 85.1 frames
