LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hall men's soccer team continues its non-conference slate on Sunday with a trip to the Keystone State for a match-up at Bucknell. The Pirates and Bison will square off at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium at 2 p.m.
The Hall sits at 0-3-1 on the year, recently dropping a home contest to Delaware by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday night. Samuel Geiler (Offenberg, Germany) scored for the Pirates in the setback, his second-straight contest with a tally. Geiler leads the Pirates with two goals this year, while Eric Lagg (Lafayette, N.J.) and Nick Najera (Laguna Hills, Calif.) have also found the back of the net. Andres Arcila (Cartagena, Colombia) assisted on Geiler's goal against the Hens and is tops on the squad with two helpers this season.
Bucknell enters the weekend with a 2-1-1 record and will host St. Francis (Pa.) on Friday night before welcoming The Hall on Sunday. Jesse Klug powers the Bison with a team-high two goals and five points on the year, while Justin Galiani is the top distributor with three assists. Sebastiaan Blickman and Chris Thorsheim each have a goal and an assist on the young season, while Clarke Foxe and Mike Lansing have both made two starts in goal and combined for a 1.13 GAA.
Seton Hall and Bucknell met for the first time in the 2013 season, a 2-0 victory for the Bison in South Orange. The Pirates out-shot the Bison 23-9 in the contest but Klug scored in the 6th and 83rd minutes and Lansing made 11 saves to preserve the clean sheet. Geiler and Danny Bartok (Union, N.J.) combined for five of The Hall's shots on target.
Following the contest with Bucknell, the Pirates take nine days off from regular season action but will host the Alumni Match on Friday, Sept. 18 in South Orange.
