
The Hall Hosts Butler On Saturday Night

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- The Seton Hall men's soccer team continues its late-season conference run when it hosts Butler on Saturday, Oct. 24 on the BIG EAST Digital Network. The Pirates (0-11-1, 0-5-0 BIG EAST) will meet the Bulldogs (7-3-3, 3-2-0) for their penultimate home contest of 2015 at 7:05 p.m.
Seton Hall is coming off a 4-0 loss at Providence on Saturday, Oct. 17. Despite the setback, The Hall held an advantage in total shots for the second-straight match, a first this season. Danny Bartok (Union, N.J.) led the Pirates with three attempts, while Samuel Geiler (Offenburg, Germany) put a pair on goal. Mac Steeves netted twice for the Friars, including a first-half goal that stood as the game-winner.
Bartok and Geiler share The Hall lead with three goals this season apiece, while Bartok has recorded two of his three tallies in conference play. The two conference goals are good for fifth among all BIG EAST players in league action. Andres Arcila (Cartagena, Colombia) is tied with the Geiler with a team-best seven points, coming off two goals and three assists.
Butler visits South Orange with a 7-3-3 record on the year, sitting at third in the BIG EAST league table with a 3-2-0 conference mark. The Bulldog offense has netted 23 goals in 13 games this year, good for second in the conference. Vincent Mitchell leads the charge with eight goals and 19 points, ranking third in the league in both categories. David Goldsmith has tallied five times and recorded 11 points, followed by Jeff Adkins (2g-4a-8p) and Eric Leonard (1-5-7). In goal, Eric Dick has played every minute for Butler and compiled a 1.02 GAA, a .797 save percentage and four shutouts on the year.
The Pirates and Bulldogs have squared off in each of the last two seasons since Butler joined the BIG EAST. After a 2-0 Bulldog victory in South Orange in 2013, the two sides played to a scoreless draw last season in Indianapolis.
After the home tilt with Butler, the Pirates hit the road to face No. 9 Georgetown and Xavier to close out the regular season away slate.
