Cavazzoni's Big Day Leads Hall Past Lehigh, 10-5

Cavazzoni's second inning grand slam was his second career home run and part of another stellar day for him at the plate. Ryan Frontera also produced out of the top third of the order, collecting three hits and two RBI.
How it Happened
Despite Seton Hall making noise early, it was Lehigh who put the pressure on first. The Mountain Hawks would load the bases in the top of the first, but Jayden Barroqueiro was able to get a strikeout and a fly out to escape the jam. In the bottom half, Cavazzoni got his day started with a single and would eventually score on a Frontera single to right.

After a 1-2-3 second inning for the lefty Barroqueiro, Seton Hall's bats got right back to work. Nick Tomasetto led off the frame with a triple to the corner in right field, followed by a Joe Marini single which doubled the Pirate lead. After an ensuing walk and single, the bases were loaded with nobody out for Cavazzoni. The junior stepped up and smashed the first pitch he saw over the wall in center for the Pirates' first grand slam of the season.

Seton Hall would be held in check again until the fifth, when a SAC fly from Tomasetto made it a 7-0 ballgame. Lehigh would get a pair back in the top of the sixth, but Seton Hall would answer with three consecutive RBI singles from Frontera, Magnus Krieger and Frankie Scrivanic to increase the lead to 10-2. The Mountain Hawks would tack on three late runs, but Seton Hall's lead was too large to overcome as the Pirates won their third game in the last four outings.
