How it Happened
Seton Hall starter Jason Kuhn had a strong beginning to his start, setting down the side in the top of the first on just eight pitches. In the second, the Huskies were able to chase him from the game by putting a three-spot on the board to take the early lead. After a rain delay of just over an hour, UConn pulled away in the fifth with a nine-run inning to take a 12-0 lead. The Huskies would later tack on an insurance tally in the eighth on an RBI single.
Tomasetto led the way for Seton Hall offensively with a pair of hits. In the seventh, he led off the frame by hitting a solo home run over the wall in center for his second home run of the year. Magnus Krieger, Ty Acker and Jake Lopez also collected base hits on the day for the Pirates.
