Pirates’ Late Rally Completes Comeback Win Over Saint Peter’s, 7-6

South Orange, N.J. -- Freshman Aiden Robbins (Yardley, Pa.) went 2-for-4 with three RBI and senior Jay Allmer (Cary, N.C.) picks up his first save of the season, sixth of his career, as he struck out one in an inning pitched as the Pirates pick up their tenth win of the season over Saint Peter's, 7-6.

Senior Zack Sylvester (Montville, N.J.) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Graduate Student Andrew Bianco (Kings Park, N.Y.) went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

How It Happened

Saint Peter's scored first as they chalked up two wins in the top of the fifth to get an early lead but the Pirates cut the lead within one in the bottom half of the inning on a Robbins RBI double.

The following inning the Pirates were able to tie the game on Sylvester's RBI single but Saint Peter's quickly took the lead back in the top of the seventh inning on a single to center field.

The Pirates were held scoreless in the bottom half of the inning and Saint Peter's was able to tack on three more runs in the top of the eighth to make it a four-run lead.

Down by four runs in the bottom of the eight, the Pirates bats exploded for five runs to complete the comeback. Bianco doubled down the left field line picking up two RBI to cut the deficit within two. The Pirates got within one on a fielder's choice from sophomore Nick Ferri (Flemington, N.J.) and Robbins delivered the game-winning hit on a two RBI single up the middle to cap off the 7-6 victory over Saint Peter's.
