The Hall would add another in the second, as Hannah Alexander (Wrightstown, N.J.) lined a single to left field to increase the lead to 3-0. DePaul would battle its way back, plating a run in the bottom of the second and a pair in the fifth to even the score at 3-3 heading to the sixth.
The Pirates' offense exploded for six runs over the final two innings to salt the game away. Two of those runs came on one swing in the sixth, as Allen connected on her second double of the game to score Lauren Caye (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) to put the Pirates back ahead.
In the seventh, an infield single from Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) allowed Taylor Hill (Little Falls, N.J.) to come home from third to increase the Blue Demons' deficit to three. Later in the inning, an error in center on a ball hit by Olivia Gilbert (Johnston, R.I.) allowed two runs to score to break the game open. Allen would follow that up with another RBI base hit to score Gilbert from second.
