Allender Homers, Pirates Fall to Butler on Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS – The Seton Hall softball team dropped the series finale with Butler on Sunday by a score of 4-1 at Butler Softball Field. Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas) provided the offense for The Hall with a solo home run to lead the Pirates in the setback.

How it Happened
The Pirates will be back in action next weekend with a doubleheader at Manhattan on Saturday and single home game against Saint Peter's on Sunday.

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard first with a sacrifice fly following a pair of singles to make it 1-0 after one.
- Butler would add another run in the fourth with a bases-loaded walk to double the lead to two.
- In the home-half of the fifth, Butler would get two runs on a two-run home run to left field as the lead grew to 4-0 after 5.
- Allender would lead off the top of the seventh with a solo home run to center field to get the Pirates on the board, but that would be it as the Pirates fell by a final score of 4-1.
- The home run for Allender was her third of the season and 24th of her career, good enough for sixth best in Seton Hall career history.
- Jenna Blevins (Flat Rock, Mich.) and Taylor Soanes (Missouri City, Texas) would also get into the hit column for the Pirates on the afternoon.
- The Bulldogs would outhit the Pirates 7-3.
- In the setback, the Pirates moved to 12-13 on the season and 4-5 in the BIG EAST.
