CONWAY, S.C. – The Seton Hall softball team dropped their two games on the second day of the Chanticleer Classic with Coastal Carolina and UMBC by scores of 7-0 and 6-0, respectively.

GAME ONE
Coastal Carolina 7 – Seton Hall 0

How it Happened

The Chanticleers scored their first three runs on three singles between the second and third innings.
The hosts then flashed some muscle with a solo homer and a double to score three runs in the fifth,
Coastal capped off the victory with an RBI walk in the sixth.

Notes and Numbers

Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) and Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) each led the Pirates with a walk and a hit apiece.
Overall the Pirates were outhit 13-2.
The Hall had their fourth clean game of season, committing no errors in the field fo the second straight game.
The Pirates' streak of eight straight games with a double ended as The Hall failed to record an extra base hit.

GAME TWO
UMBC 6 – Seton Hall 0

How it Happened

The Retrievers took the lead early with two-run home run in the first inning.
UMBC would go onto do the rest of their scoring in the fourth, where they tacked on four more runs to get it to the final score, 6-0.

Notes and Numbers

Barracato and Arteaga each walked twice at the top of the Pirates' order. The Pirates led the Retrievers in walks, 5-1.
With her single in the sixth inning, Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) now has 15 hits on the season.

What's Next
The Pirates will continue play at the Chanticleer Showdown with their final game coming tomorrow, Feb. 23, against Iona. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
