
Barracato Homers Twice In Doubleheader Setbacks

Game 1 – DePaul 3, Seton Hall 2
- How it Happened
- The Pirates jumped ahead early, with Barracato lifting a leadoff home run over the right field wall in the bottom of the first before a Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) RBI single later in the frame made it 2-0
- The Blue Demons got a run back in the top of the second, then leveled the contest in the fourth inning
- An error allowed an unearned run to score for DePaul in the top of the sixth, giving it a 3-2 lead
- The Pirates put two baserunners on in both the sixth and seventh innings, but were unable to cash in with the game-tying run

- Both sides recorded five hits in the contest, with SHU committing two errors versus one for DPU
- Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) made the start for The Hall and took a tough-luck loss, going the distance and striking out four while allowing three runs (two earned)
- For DePaul, Missy Zoch also went the distance and struck out eight
- Five different Pirates recorded one hit in the setback

- After the two sides traded zeroes in the first, DePaul took a 3-0 lead with a home run and a double-steal of home in the top of the second
- Depaul added three more in the top of the sixth with a solo home run and a pair of RBI doubles
- Barracato got the Pirates on the board in the bottom of the sixth with a leadoff home run, but that was all the offense in the contest for The Hall

- DePaul finished with a 12-2 edge in hits, while SHU committed the game's lone error
- Barracato finished 2-for-3 with her home run and a run scored
- The home run for Barracato was her fourth of the season, second on the squad
- Alexis Walkden (Cibolo, Texas) drew a walk in both games and now has 102 in her career, one shy of The Hall's program record
- With the two defeats, the Pirates are now 6-25 all-time against the Blue Demons
