CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Seton Hall softball team (12-12) closed its 11-game spring break trip with a 6-1 setback to Central Michigan (8-11) on Sunday morning at the USF Series Under Armour Showcase. The Pirates conclude their Florida swing with a 5-6 record.

Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas) and Emily Supercynski (Aurora, Colo.) both had two hits for The Hall, but the Chippewas broke a tight game open with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

How it Happened

Both sides were scoreless until the top of the fourth, when Allender doubled with one away before scoring on a wild pitch
The Hall's lead was short-lived as CMU pushed two runs across in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single and a run-scoring triple
The score stayed at 2-1 until the bottom of the sixth, when the Chippewas scored four times to put the contest away

News, Notes and Numbers

Central Michigan held a 10-5 edge in hits and committed the game's lone error
Allender went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, a walk and a run scored
Sara Foster (Long Beach, Calif.) also doubled for The Hall
The Hall drew a total of six walks and issued only one, with Payton Beaver (Lake Stevens, Wash.) drawing a pair of bases on balls
Beaver has reached base safely in 12-straight, including every contest on the spring break trip
Supercynski has now hit safely in each of her last three outings, raising her season batting average over 50 points in that span

What's Next
The Hall heads back north next weekend to take part in the Fordham Tournament. The Pirates will take on UMass Lowell, Fordham, Holy Cross and Detroit Mercy from March 16-18 in the Bronx.
