The Hall Heads To ECU Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Fresh off a season-opening sweep at the Runnin' Bulldog Tournament, the Seton Hall softball team (3-0) is back in action this weekend when it travels to North Carolina for the ECU Pirate Invitational. The Hall will square off with ACC foes Virginia and Virginia Tech as well as Coppin State for five games over three days at the ECU Softball Stadium.

The Hall is 3-0 on the young season, defeating Hampton, Bucknell and Holy Cross at the Runnin' Bulldog Tournament last weekend
Each of Seton Hall's three wins this season have come by the run-rule
Through their first weekend of action, the Pirates lead the nation in a slew of offensive categories including runs scored (14.3/g), batting average (.463), on-base percentage (.536) and slugging percentage (.804)

In the circle, freshman Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) made two appearances and spun a 1.62 ERA while Fischer holds a 1.40 ERA after a complete game victory on Feb. 18
The Hall is 7-for-8 on the basepaths this season with Valerie Suto (Mercerville, N.J.), Walkden and Brianna Wallace (Fort Worth, Texas) each swiping two bags

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Virginia Tech (5-3)
- The Hokies are coming off a 2-2 weekend at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, splitting with both Iowa and Penn State
- Aysha Richardson leads VT with a .364 average, while Olivia Lattin is hitting .320 with a home run and four RBIs
- In the circle, Taylor Barnes holds a 1.50 ERA in five appearances and Carrie Eberle has made three starts, holding a 3-1 record and 2.42 ERA
- The Pirates are 4-4 all-time against the Hokies, last meeting twice in the 2015 season
Virginia (5-6)
- The Cavaliers most recently took part in the Charleston Southern Buccaneer Invitational, splitting four games with two wins over ETSU
- Olivia Gott (.478) and Allison Davis (.436) lead UVA in batting average and have each clubbed four home runs on the year
- As a team, UVA has slugged 17 home runs this season and is batting .280 as a team
- Lexi Mettler is tops on the squad with a 3.29 ERA and Erika Osherow holds a 3-3 record in nine appearances, five stats
- The Hall is 0-1 all-time against Virginia, dropping its only meeting in the 2004 season
Coppin State (1-7)
- The Eagles most recently took part in the Lions Classic hosted by Southeastern Louisiana, dropping five contests in Hammond, La.
- Cayla Brown leads CSU with a .438 average and four RBIs
- The Pirates are 3-0 all-time against Coppin State, picking up wins in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
