VILLANOVA, PA. – Led by a complete-game showing from Kyra Kreuscher, the Seton Hall softball team's (14-23, 4-13) downed to the Villanova Wildcats (9-32, 5-12), at the Villanova Softball Complex.

How It Happened
Returning to the field after yesterday's disappointing loss, the Pirates were looking for a rebound showing. It was slow going in the early innings between the two sides, with a pitching duel quickly ensuing. Both teams traded three scoreless frames, with Kyra Kreuscher rattling off four strikeouts in the affair.

It would take until the fourth for one side to finally break through the stalemate, which, fortunately, went in The Hall's favor. After an inning-opening error and a double, Lea Kosinski pounced on a 2-2 pitch to bring home Naya Martinez. Not to be outdone, Andrea Perez quickly followed Kosinski's at-bat up with a sacrifice fly of her own, scoring Erin Howard, to make it a 2-0 Seton Hall lead through four innings.

While Kreuscher continued to cruise in the circle, Katey Brennan returned to the plate looking to continue her hot streak in the fifth inning. The junior outfielder jumped on the first pitch she saw, launching the ball over the wall in deep centerfield, scoring Angelina Benitez and extending The Hall's lead to 4-0.

Despite facing mounting pressure and potential rallies from the Wildcats in the closing frames, Kreuscher remained unmoved in the circle. The senior hurler wrapped up the game with a complete game shutout, securing Seton Hall a 4-0 win over Villanova.
