Pirates Break Out Bats in 14-1 Rout of Wagner

South Orange, N.J. – The Hall broke out the bats on Tuesday afternoon, putting 14 runs on the board in a 14-1 midweek victory over Wagner at Mike Sheppard Sr. Stadium.
How it Happened
The Pirate bats got right to work in the bottom of the first, quickly loading the bases with nobody out. Ryan Frontera knocked home the first two runs of the game with a two-run single to left, spotting Seton Hall an early edge. Three batters later, Frankie Scrivanic singled home the third tally of the frame for the home side.
After the Pirates left two runners on in the second, they capitalized in a big way in the third. With two outs and the bases once again loaded, Gabe Cavazzoni ripped a two-run double down the left field line to stretch the lead up to 5-0. Later in the inning with the bases juiced once again, Aidan Sengenberger hit a double to right field which cleared the bases and gave Seton Hall an 8-0 advantage.
Pirate starter Jason Kuhn continued to cruise on the mound after being spotted the big lead. The freshman earned his first career win by throwing five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four.
The ninth run for the Pirates came across in the fourth on a ground ball from Vincent Duffy. In the fifth, four more Pirates would cross home plate as the home side continued to stretch the lead. Frontera added his third RBI of the game with a double to right, scoring Jake Lopez and getting Seton Hall to double digits, 10-0. After an RBI groundout from Ty Acker got The Hall its 11th run, freshman Ryan Strnad came up as a pinch hitter and singled home two runs to give the Pirates a 13-0 lead. The final run of the afternoon for Seton Hall would come across in the bottom of the sixth as a wild pitch with the bases loaded allowed Lopez to trot home from third.
