- The Hall would pick up doubles in the second and third innings from Taylor Hill (Little Falls, N.J.) and Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas), respectively.
- Providence would lead off the third with a single that would come around to score two batters later on a double to left. That runner would then come around to score on a two-out single up the middle to make it a 2-1 ball game.
- After two relatively quiet innings, the Friars would add an insurance run in the sixth on a two-out RBI single for a final score of 3-1.
- Wingo extended her hitting streak to 11 games with her RBI double in the first. The two-bagger is also Wingo's team-leading sixth of the season.
- Allender's double was the 25th of her career moving her into 16th place all-time on the program career leaderboard.
- In the circle, BABIK allowed just two earned runs over seven innings.
- The double for Hill was her fourth of the season and second in as many games
- The Friars outhit the Pirates 6-3.
How it Happened
- After two scoreless frames to start the ballgame with both teams sending just six hitters to the plate, the Friars were able to jump on the board in the third. A leadoff single followed by three consecutive two-out singles plated the first two runs of the game for the Friars' 2-0 lead.
- The Pirates would threaten in the bottom half of the inning following a Jenna Blevins (Flat Rock, Mich.) single and Emily Pena (Algonquin, Ill.) double, however that would be all in the inning.
- Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) would work out of trouble in the fourth picking up a backwards "K" with runs on second and third.

- Trailing by two in the sixth, Taylor Soanes (Missouri City, Texas) would reach base on a Friars' miscue before being advanced to third on a Barracato fly ball. Wingo would walk and a wildpitch would score Soanes to get the Pirates on the board and make it a 2-1 game. That would be all for The Hall's offense as they would fall 2-1.
- The double for Pena was her first on the season and the team's 33rd.
- Smith picked up four strikeouts over seven innings while surrendering just two runs in the circle.
- The Pirates moved to 8-9 on the season, 1-2 in BIG EAST play and 2-2 at home.
The Pirates will be back in action next weekend when they host BIG EAST foe Creighton for three games at Mike Sheppard, Sr., Field. The series will start on Friday with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
