STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Seton Hall softball team (17-20) dropped a midweek contest at Stony Brook (20-14) by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday at University Field.

How it Happened

The Seawolves took an early lead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first
Stony Brook added three more with another home run in the fourth to go up 5-0
Down 6-0 in the top of the seventh the Pirates were able to threaten with runners on second and third and one away, but SBU got a strikeout and groundout to put the game away

The Pirates are now 11-8 all-time against Stony Brook in a series dating back to 2001
The Hall was out-hit 7-3 in the setback, while each side committed one error
Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas), Katherine Matthys (Spring Branch, Texas) and Emily Supercynski (Aurora, Colo.) all had singles for The Hall
Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) drew two walks on the day
