Strong Second Half Not Enough at Xavier
10/19/2017 10:12:00 PM | Women's Soccer
Cincinnati, Ohio – Senior Lauren Hall (Bridgewater, N.J.) ripped a highlight reel goal from outside the middle of the box to tie the match in the 67th minute, but the Seton Hall women's soccer team ultimately fell, 2-1, in a BIG EAST Conference match at Xavier Thursday night.
Hall's second goal of the season was the result of a sustained effort from the Pirates (0-10-5), 0-4-3 BIG EAST) the moment the final 45 minutes kicked off, but Xavier (8-5-4, 4-1-2 BIG EAST) took advantage of a scoring chance in the second half to come away with the win.
Turning Point
With the momentum on the Pirates side following the equalizer at 66:28, Xavier flipped a switch and held possession in the offensive zone for the first time since the opening half.
The Musketeers earned three shots and three corner kicks before O'Keefe found Doss in front of the goal on an unfortunate bounce for the Pirates, and Doss put it into the lower right side of the goal to score what proved to be the game-winning tally.
