SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Former Seton Hall baseball players Dan Merklinger, Tim Pahuta, and Anthony Seratelli have currently been upgraded to play at the Double-A level for their affiliated teams.  Merklinger, a 2007 draft pick by the Milwaukee Brewers has been assigned to the Southern League's Huntsville Stars, Pahuta, a 2005 pick of the Washington Nationals moved to the Eastern League's Harrisburg Senators, and Seratelli, a 2007 free agent signee by the Kansas City Royals, has made the jump to Texas League's Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

Merklinger began the 2010 campaign with the Brewers' High-A affiliate Brevard County Manatees where he made 10 appearances on the mound, including six starts, posting a 2-1 record with 41 strikeouts in 47.1 innings pitched.  He was assigned to the Stars on Tuesday, June 1 and will make his first start this evening.

Pahuta began the season playing in 39 games for the Potomac Nationals batting .283 with 41 hits, including nine doubles, three triples, and 10 home runs.  Already having played six games for the Senators, the former infielder for the Pirates has five hits, one double, two home runs, four runs scored, and four RBI.

Similar to Pahuta, Seratelli also started 2010 in the Carolina League with the Royals High-A affiliate Wilmington Blue Rocks before being assigned to the Double-A Naturals.  Currently, the former Independent Frontier League standout has recorded 15 hits, including a double and a home run, scored seven runs, and drove in 10 more for the Naturals.  With the Blue Rocks earlier this year, he batted .277 with five doubles, one triple, five RBI, and seven runs scored.
