
Baseball Alumni Matt Singer Receives Outstanding Male Student-Athlete Award

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall baseball alumni Matt Singer was presented the Outstanding Male Student-Athlete Award for the 2009-10 year during the CAANJ Annual Awards Luncheon at the Holiday Inn in Somerset, New Jersey.
The award, which is selected by the College Athletic Administrators of New Jersey, is given to one male and one female in each of the four New Jersey intercollegiate divisions (NCAA Division I, II, III, and NJCAA Community Colleges).
While pitching for the Pirates as a graduate student in 2010, the right-hander posted a 2-0 record with 23 strikeouts and only five walks in 32.2 innings of work in a team-high 27 appearances. With all appearances coming out of the bullpen, Singer became the new Seton Hall career-record holder for most relief appearances with 83.
Off the field, the Bayonne native earned a 3.79 GPA in his first year in the Masters Program as he works towards a degree in Education with a concentration in College Student Personnel Administration. In 2009, Singer graduated Magnum Cum Laude with a 3.67 GPA in sport management.
