How It Happened – Game One vs. West Georgia
- Up to bat first, the Pirates opened the game with a strong run of form. After the first three batters reached base, Sophia DeMarco scored the Pirates' opening run to give them the lead.
- Immediately after, Erin Howard drove in Katey Brennan to make it a 2-0 game before the inning's end.
- Despite that early lead, The Hall was forced to use two pitchers in the bottom half of the inning, leading to a 6-2 deficit heading into the second frame.
- Andrea Perez and Elisabeth Figliolino each brought home a run in the third and fourth innings, but West Georgia responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth to make it a four-run deficit, 8-4, once again.
- Yet, The Hall kept pushing opposing pitchers to the edges of the plate. After a leadoff single, The Hall generated back-to-back-to-back walks to make it an 8-5 game with no outs. With Seton Hall hunting for the response and having a prime opportunity, the Wolves made a pitching change, looking to quell the run.
- The opposition's hopes would die two pitches later when freshman third baseman Christina Ginex turned on a 1-0 pitch and sent it over the wall in right centerfield. The grand slam, Ginex's collegiate home run, pushed the Pirates in front 9-8.
- Angelina Benitez added an insurance run in the sixth inning when she singled up the middle to score Andrea Perez, making it a 10-8 game.
- Despite a late charge in the seventh from West Georgia, Kyra Kreuscher shut the door to secure the 10-9 win.
- In an error-filled first inning, the Pirates secured a 1-0 lead after Ginex scored on a passed ball.
- After getting two runners on with one out in the second, Benitez continued her run from the first game and doubled the Pirates' advantage, 2-0, with an RBI single up the middle.
- After loading the bases later that inning, DeMarco stepped to the plate for the second time this game, once again looking to do damage with runners in scoring position. After fouling the first three pitches off, she connected on the fourth and sent it over the centerfield wall for a grand slam to make it a 6-0 game.
- Benitez and Brennan each added two RBI over the remainder of the innings to make it 10-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh.
- Despite allowing a run in the fifth, the Pirates secured the 10-1 run-rule victory.
