Pirates Look for Bounce Back Performance at Wagner

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team continues its non-conference road swing on Thursday night with a trip to Staten Island to face Wagner. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. with live coverage available on NEC Front Row.

LAST TIME OUT
Adria Kitzinger scored her first goal of the season, but the Pirates dropped a road contest at NJIT, 3-1, for their first defeat of the season. Kitzinger's goal came in the 77^th minute, as she scored off a rebound after her penalty kick was saved.

SURGING START

The Pirates erupted to open the 2025 season, going unbeaten through their first five matches of the season for just the third time ever.
The two previous five-game unbeaten stretches to open a season for the Pirates came in 2012 (5-0-0) and 1998 (4-0-1).
Junior transfer Gianna Angelillo has gotten off to a blistering start. She enters play with five goals on the season, good for second-most in the BIG EAST and 29^th in the nation.
A Pirate recorded a brace in each of the first three games this season. Gianna Angelillo has done so twice, scoring a pair of goals against both Monmouth and Rider. Freshman Paige Shaughnessy also notched a two-goal performance, doing so in the win over Iona.
Shaughnessy's brace allowed her to receive BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors. She is the first Pirate to receive Freshman of the Week honors since Lily Camacho on Aug. 28, 2023.

YEAR FOUR OF OSIT ERA

Head Coach Josh Osit enters his fourth season at the helm of the Seton Hall women's soccer program in 2025.
This year marks the first time in Osit's tenure that the Pirates have been unbeaten through the first three matches of a season.
Seton Hall has posted its most points in a two-year span since 2007-08 and has placed players on the all-conference team in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2010-11.
In just his second season in 2023, Osit guided the Pirates to 10 points in conference matches, the most for the program since 2011.
Osit inherited a program that has posted just 12 points in BIG EAST play over the previous four seasons combined.

ANOTHER NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SIGNING CLASS

Osit's signing class was ranked No. 29 in the nation by TopDrawerSoccer.com back in April, marking the second straight season in which the Pirates had a top-50 class from the publication.
The Pirates welcome in an exciting group of new talent in 2025, welcoming in 13 newcomers consisting of three transfers and 10 freshmen.
Gianna Angelillo transfers in from Louisville by way of Miami, playing a total of 27 matches over her first two seasons of collegiate soccer. Brianna Azevedo (Rutgers) and Shea Boyle (Boston College) also bring previous college experience to the team this season.
Of the 10 freshmen coming to South Orange, three were included in TopDrawerSoccer's rankings: Isabella Calabro (152^nd), Jordana Bello (153^rd) and Danni Hennessy (197^th).
