Angelillo Scores Twice Again as Pirates Draw Rider, 2-2

South Orange, N.J. – Gianna Angelillo notched her second brace of the season, scoring a pair of second half goals as the Pirates played Rider to a 2-2 draw on Sunday evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.
The two-goal effort for Angelillo is already her second of the season. The Pirates have had a player record a brace in all three matches so far this season.
How it Happened
Seton Hall peppered the goal all night long, outshooting the Broncs, 15-4, overall on the match. That shot advantage was 8-1 after the first half, but the Pirates were unable to cash in on any scoring chances through the first 45 minutes.
Early in the second half, Seton Hall struck first. In the 47th minute, Angelillo received a pass from Jordana Bello about 35 yards from goal. She took a few dribbles in and ripped a shot from just outside the 18-yard box into the upper 90 on the far side of the goal. Later in the 65th minute, Angelillo would strike again. Perfect lead passing down the far sideline allowed Nina Davis to have a clear view to cross the ball into the box. The pass found Angelillo at the top of the six, blasting one past the keeper to double the Pirate lead.
Rider would rebound, scoring nearly three minutes later to cut the deficit down to one. In the late stages, Seton Hall's defense was tasked with protecting the one-goal lead. However, a handball in the box off a Rider corner kick gave the Broncs a penalty kick in the 89th minute with a chance to tie it up. Rider's Courtney Carter stepped up and buried the PK to make it a 2-2 tie.
