The Hall Hosts CCSU at Seton Hall Prep, Sunday

WEST ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team will take on Central Connecticut State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The game will take place at Seton Hall Preparatory School's Kelly Athletic Complex due to continued renovation at Owen T. Carroll Field.

PIRATES DROP CONTEST WITH SIENA
Junior Dani Brinckman (Glastonbury, Conn.) scored her first career goal, but the Pirates fell to Siena, 2-1, at the Red Bulls Training Facility on Wednesday. Trailing 1-0, Brinckman found the equalizer in the 69th minute, as the Pirates amplified their offensive intensity in the second half. The ball found Brinckman's foot off a rebound after a scrum in front of the Saints' goalkeeper.

In the 84th minute, Siena's Ashleigh Sarafin scored her second goal of the game, launching a high-arcing shot from 40 yards away. The ball barely snuck over the outstretched arm of Pirate goalkeeper Harpa Johannsdottir (Akureyri, Iceland) for the game-winner.

AGAINST CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE
The Hall will compete with Central Connecticut for the second straight season. In last year's affair, the match ended in a 0-0 draw despite a total of 41 shots between the two teams. The men's soccer team has already faced the Blue Devils this year, taking the contest 6-0 in its season-opener.

Despite Seton Hall's 1-3 record, the Pirates dominated their opponents in shots, 59-to-33, and shots on goal, 24-to-13, this season.
All four of Seton Hall's contests have been decided by just one goal.
Three different Pirates have scored already this season: Cassy Harrigan (Beaverton, Ore.), Alyssa Reszkowski (Freehold, N.J.) and Brinckman.
Junior Izzy Engel (Crescent, Pa.) ranks 10^th in the BIG EAST Conference in shots per game (2.75).
Johannsdottir ranks sixth in the BIG EAST in goals against average (1.23).
The Hall return five of their seven goal scorers from last season, including leading scorer Siobhan McGovern (Cranford, N.J.).
Before taking over at The Hall, Ciara Crinion went 77-36-20 as an assistant coach with Hartford, winning four America East regular season championships and reaching the America East Tournament final four times.
The next home match for the Pirates will take place at Owen T. Carroll Field, the team's first match on campus since Oct. 18, 2018.

After Central Connecticut State, the Pirates will travel to Philadelphia to face off with Drexel. The game is scheduled for Sept. 19 at 6:00 p.m.
