NEW YORK – Freshman Cassy Harrigan (Beaverton, Ore.) scored with under a minute to go in the first half to draw within one of the lead, but Seton Hall could not keep pace with host Columbia, and fell 4-2 on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium.

Sophomore Siobhan McGovern (Cranford, N.J.) got the Pirates (0-2) on the board in the 16th minute when she buried a rebound in the center of the box off a blast from junior Julia Stirpe (Berkeley Heights, N.J.).

Columbia (1-0-1) then responded with a pair of goals in the 29th and 30th minute to take the lead for good.

Turning Point

Harrigan's goal from 20 yards out with 48 seconds remaining in the half cut Columbia's lead to 3-2 at the break. However, the Lions added to their lead just 1:32 into the final frame when Emily Koe scored from the top of the box to make it 4-2.
