Pirates Host St. John's For BIG EAST Opener

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team (4-3-1) opens BIG EAST play on Saturday afternoon with a rivalry match against St. John's (5-1-3) at Owen T. Carroll Field. The contest will be the first of conference action for both squads and is set to kick-off at 2 p.m. The BIG EAST Digital Network on the FOX Sports GO app will have full coverage, with David Gass on the call.
On Saturday, the Pirates will celebrate the life of former student-athlete Mary Jennings, who tragically passed away in 2006 at the age of 21 after a battle with cancer. The Pirates are coming off a 1-1 draw in their last match against Columbia, closing non-conference play with a result to conclude the non-league slate with a winning record. Sarah Cortes (Paramus, N.J.) scored in the tie and Anna MacLean (Thunder Bay, Ontario) tied a career-high with 14 saves. The Red Storm also notched a positive result in their non-conference finale, defeating La Salle on Sunday by a score of 1-0.
