Seton Hall will return to the friendly confines of Walsh Gymnasium this weekend for a pair of BIG EAST Conference matches. The Pirates will host Providence on Halloween, followed by Connecticut on Nov. 1. Both contests will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Both matches this weekend will be streamed live on ESPN+. Both will also have Live Stats and be available on the airwaves via 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net.

LAST TIME AGAINST PROVIDENCE
Freshman Sadie Reich (Wantagh, N.Y.) had a team-high 18 kills, and Rowan Carr (Lakeville, Minn.) collected her first career double-double, but the Pirates fell at Providence, 3-2 (17-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, 12-15), on Oct. 4.

The teams traded sets from the start, but The Hall couldn't outlast the Friars in set five. The Pirates had a lot of trouble with Providence's front line as the Friars collected 16.0 team blocks on the afternoon.

Sadie Reich had a team-high 18 kills to go with five digs. Senior Asli Subasili (Tekirdag, Turkiye) had a career-high 13 kills, only five attack errors, and four blocks. Freshman Daria Safian (Moscow, Russia) notched 13 kills, only five attack errors and five digs. Carr had the breakout performance of the afternoon with career-highs of 11 kills, 22 digs, three blocks and four service aces.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters the weekend with a 10-13 overall record and a 1-9 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. Its one victory came on Oct. 4, a five-set win at home against the Pirates. Since then, the Friars have lost six straight matches. Last weekend, Providence was swept by Creighton on Friday and lost at Connecticut in four sets on Sunday.

Providence's Hadley Pride is a contender for Libero of the Year and currently leads the conference with 5.36 digs per set. Lyric Berry leads the BIG EAST with 1.26 blocks per set.

LAST TIME AGAINST CONNECTICUT
Reich had a double-double, but the Pirates fell at Connecticut, 3-1 (11-25, 27-25, 16-25, 19-25), on October 3.

The Pirates were able to outlast UConn, 27-25, in an epic second set that featured 11 ties and six lead changes to tie the match at one set apiece, but the Huskies were able to win sets three and four to close out the match. Reich had team-highs of 13 kills and 11 digs. Safian had 11 kills, only three attack errors and a team-best .258 attack percentage. Freshman setter Emilee Fuller (Louisville, Ky.) finished with 11 assists and eight digs.

SCOUTING CONNECTICUT
Connecticut enters the weekend with a 16-6 record overall and a 5-5 mark in BIG EAST play. Since defeating Seton Hall on Oct. 3, the Huskies have defeated St. John's, Butler, Georgetown, and most recently, Providence in four sets on Sunday. Like Providence, Connecticut was also swept at home by Creighton this past weekend.

Connecticut's Kiara Reinhardt currently leads the BIG EAST with a .439 attack percentage, while Emma Werkmeister leads the conference with 0.69 aces per set and ranks fifth with 3.73 kills per set.

UP NEXT
Next weekend, Seton Hall will head back on the road for a pair of BIG EAST matches in the Midwest. The Pirates will travel to Chicago for a match at DePaul on Friday, Nov. 7. On Sunday, Nov. 9, The Hall will visit Marquette in Milwaukee.
