New Providence, N.J. - Junior Arina Gumerova and freshman Arabella Moen accounted for all of the Seton Hall tennis team's wins in its match against Siena, but the Saints came away with the 5-2 team victory, Sunday night at Murray Hill Tennis and Fitness.
Gumerova delivered an impressive performance at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Meagan Brown. Moen was nearly equal to the task at No. 4 singles, defeating Maanya Viswanath in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Although the Pirates lost the doubles point, Gumerova and Moen did their part with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Brown and Laia Giralt. The Pirates were within a hair of winning the doubles point as junior Hiba El Khalifi and freshman Hili Kronzon went to a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles and lost by the smallest of margins.
Seton Hall will return to the court on Saturday, March 26 for a home BIG EAST match vs. Georgetown at Murray Hill Tennis and Fitness at 4:30 p.m.Â
