
Pirates Face LIU Friday in Whippany

WHIPPANY, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team returns to action on Friday for another "home" match at the Red Bulls Training Facility in Whippany, N.J. The Pirates will host local non-conference rival LIU with game time scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start.

PIRATES TOP LAFAYETTE
Junior Alyssa Reszkowski (Freehold, N.J.) broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 81st minute as the Pirates earned their first victory of the season in their home opener, 1-0, over Lafayette on Aug 29. The victory was also the first in the career for new Seton Hall head coach Ciara Crinion. The Pirates were scheduled to play at Monmouth on Sept. 2, but it was canceled due to inclement weather.

AGAINST LIU
This is the second straight year that Seton Hall and LIU have met with the teams playing to a 2-2 draw in Brooklyn on Sept. 19 last year. Siobhan McGovern (Cranford, N.J.) scored twice and converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute for the equalizer in that match. The last time The Hall defeated LIU was a 3-1 victory at Owen T. Carroll Field back on Sept. 19, 2014.
