New Providence, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team registered a pair of singles victories, but ultimately fell to Rutgers, 5-2, on Sunday night at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness Center.

Freshman Regina Pitts (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished the weekend with a 2-0 singles record by defeating RU's Kat Muzik at the No. 2 position on Sunday, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

At the No. 3 singles flight, junior Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) defeated Tess Fisher, 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-3.

Up next, the Pirates open BIG EAST play with an 11 a.m. match at Georgetown on Friday, March 1. The Pirates then travel to Annapolis on Saturday, March 2 for a 10 a.m. non-conference match at Navy.
