Two Pirate seniors score goals in their final home contest

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – An organized and balanced offensive attack lifted the Seton Hall women's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Providence on Senior Night at Owen T. Carroll Field.

The Pirates used two goals in the first half and two more in the second to give head coach Ciara Crinion her first BIG EAST victory and the Hall's first conference win since 2016. Senior Siobhan McGovern (Cranford, N.J.), senior Marissa Aniolowski (Enfield, Conn.), sophomore Sydney Kulenguski (Annandale, Va.) and junior Alyssa Reszkowski (Freehold, N.J.) scored the four Pirate goals.

Turning Point
Freshman Saga Sigurdadottir (Akureyri, Iceland) took a corner kick for the Pirates at just over the 20 minute mark in the first half that found McGovern covered, but the senior used the lower half of her body to find the net.

With the Pirates leading 3-0 in the second half, Providence looked to spoil the festivities after scoring in the 83rd minute, making it 3-1. But the Hall responded as Dani Camilleri (Mississauga, Ontario) found Reszkowski in stride, tucking the ball in the lower left corner of the goal.

Along with Jackie Robinson (Matawan, N.J.), McGovern and Aniolowski were honored pregame as a part of Senior Night.
For McGovern, her goal that opened the scoring marked her sixth career goal and her first of the season.
Aniolowski finishes her career with four goals and she ended up playing in 67 career matches out of a possible 68.
