
Seton Hall continues BIG EAST play at St. John's, Xavier

The Pirates look to bounce back this week on the road
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – After opening conference play this past weekend, the Seton Hall women's soccer team will next head to Queens, N.Y. and Cincinnati for BIG EAST matches at St. John's on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Xavier on Sunday, Oct. 6. Thursday's match will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday's tilt will kick off at 1 p.m.

PIRATES LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK
Last time out, Seton Hall dropped a 3-0 defeat to Butler, its first match at Owen T. Carroll Field this season following offseason renovations. The result marked the Hall's first loss by multiple goals this season. Junior forward Atley Fortney led the Pirates with three shots and a shot on goal.
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
St. John's (3-7-0, 0-1- BIG EAST) is 15-1 all-time against the Pirates. The Hall's lone win against the Red Storm was a 1-0 victory on Oct. 27, 2011 in South Orange. The Red Storm is led by head coach Ian Stone, who enters his 24th season at the helm of the program.
SCOUTING XAVIER
Xavier is 7-2-2 and 0-1-0 in the BIG EAST entering Thursday. Prior to the Musketeers' 1-0 loss at Villanova on Sunday, Xavier was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Redshirt senior Samantha Dewey, the league's preseason offensive player of the year, leads the BIG EAST with nine goals scored on the season and 1.91 points per game.
