Pirates Wrap Up Regular Season With Midwest Trip

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team concludes its regular season this weekend with a 3 p.m. match at DePaul on Saturday and a 12 p.m. date with Marquette in Milwaukee on Sunday.
The Pirates (7-7, 1-2 BIG EAST) are coming off a bye week and will look to right the ship against DePaul (12-7, 3-2 BIG EAST) following a narrow 4-3 setback to St. John's on April 9.
Junior Luize Strike (Riga, Latvia) and sophomore Anicka Fajnorova (Bratislava, Slovakia) have led the Pirates at the top doubles flight all season, and also compete in the top two singles spots, respectively.
Fajnorova has posted an impressive 13-3 singles record, while junior Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii) has a team-best 14 singles victories. Sophomore Thandy Kangwa (Fort Myers, Fla.) is undefeated in both singles and doubles in two BIG EAST matches.
The Blue Demons are led by Aspasia Avgeri, who has posted a 15-3 singles record during the dual match season including a 5-0 mark in league play.
Marquette (13-6, 2-1 BIG EAST) is paced by Silvia Ambrosio, Paula Tormos Sanchez and Fleur Eggink, who are a combined 42-13 in singles play and compete at the top three flights.
The Pirates head to South Carolina for the BIG EAST Championship April 27-30.
