Pirates Showcase Depth in Weekend Finale at Army

West Point, N.Y. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team wrapped up its strong showing this weekend with a 6-1 victory over host Army West Point on Sunday to earn its second team win in as many days.
Junior Luize Strike (Riga, Latvia) defeated Army West Point's Melanie Allen, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, and sophomore Anna Fajnorova (Bratislava, Slovakia) followed suit with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kirby Einck in the second singles matchup.
Freshmen Michal Matson (St. Albans, New Zealand), Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) and Anniek Jansen (Naarden, Nethlerlands) picked up singles victories along with junior Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii).
In doubles play, Strike and Fajnorova defeated Melanie Allen and Nancy Porter in the No. 1 spot, 6-4. Kim and sophomore Thandy Kangwa (Fort Myers, Fla.) registered a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Strike finishes the weekend with a pair of wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Additionally, Fajnorova also finished the weekend with an unblemished record at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.
Looking ahead, the Pirates travel to Hamden, Conn. to take on Quinnipiac on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m.
