Records Fall at Patriot Invitational

FAIRFAX, Va. – Sophomore Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.) swam a school-record 45.28 in the 100-yard freestyle race to lead the Pirates in an impressive weekend at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason. The Hall finished third out of nine competing schools.
In the 800 free relay, the Hall posted a school-record winning time of 6:40.63 following the efforts of sophomore Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel), junior Vadim Jacobson (Arnold, Md.), freshman Tyler Kauth (Wall, N.J.) and junior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.) .
Grubert won the 1650 free with a time of 15:45.36, and Yanchulis won the 200 free in 1:39.70. Yanchulis also took second in the 500 free after touching in 4:29.85, while Jacobson finished right behind him in third with a time of 4:30.43.
The Pirates won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:31.68 behind the quartet of Kauth, Tosoni, Connor Phillips (Cape Town, South Africa) and Williams. The same four also placed second in the 400 medley relay after finishing in 3:20.83.
Grubert also took second in the 200 and 400 individual medley with respective times of 1:50.86 and 3:58.77.
In the 100 butterfly, Phillips finished second with a time of 49.24. Freshman Joshua Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) picked up second in the 100 breaststroke after posting a time of 56.67.
Looking ahead, the Pirates compete in the U.S. Winter Nationals on Dec. 1-3 in Atlanta.
