SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Off the back of strong showings from new and old faces, the Seton Hall men's swimming and diving team dominated the Fordham Rams, 201.5-97.5, to open the 2026-27 season.

While things change every season, Nick Graham's regular-season dual meet domination has not. The two-time BIG EAST Most Outstanding Male Diver won on both the one-meter (337.87) and three-meter (351.60) boards, each by over 40 points.
While Graham presented an unfair standard for his competition, the Pirates still swept both podiums thanks to their strong underclassmen divers. Sophomore Henry Summers began his sophomore campaign with a strong showing on the three-meter board, his better height, finishing second with a score of 295.50. He also added a third-place finish on the one-meter with a mark of 276.60.
For The Hall, the other podium sweeper was freshman diver Adam Klinger. The Pennsylvania native finished third on the three-meter board with a score of 282.97, but that was not his best showing of the day. On the one-meter board, Klinger finished second with a score of 288.60.

After dominant season last year, Balint Marosi returned to the pool ready to roll. Marosi opened the day by winning the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.60, before later securing the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.02. His biggest battle, however, came against his two teammates in the 200 IM. After being down three-tenths-of-a-second heading into the final 50, Marosi outsplit his opposition by just under a second to win the event with a time of 1:54.17.
In addition to Marosi, Toma Adam returned to South Orange ready for a strong senior season. The Romanian Rocket blasted his way to victory in the 50 freestyle, winning his head by over three-tenths with a time of 20.88. Adam continued that form into the 100 freestyle, but found himself in a much closer battle. After finding himself behind after the opening 50, the senior found an extra gear in the second half and won the race to the wall with a time of 46.97.
While Toma Adam dominated the sprint events, his brother Robert Adam put on a show in the breaststroke events. The junior transfer won both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, with times of 58.47 and 2:08.77, respectively. Towards the end of the meet, he also added a third-place finish in the 200 IM.
Alongside the younger Adam, freshman Nimrod Koncz made a mark in his Seton Hall debut. The Romanian sailed to a victory in the 200 butterfly with a mark of 1:51.20, over two seconds clear of the second-place finisher. Additionally, Koncz finished second in the 200 IM to Marosi, despite leading the entire race up until the freestyle leg.
The final individual event winner for The Hall on the day was junior Jake Karulf. In addition to a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly, Karulf won the 100 butterfly with a mark of 50.45.
With victory already secured, the Pirates lined up for the final race of the day, the 400 freestyle relay. Evan Wilson kept the Pirates within striking distance in the opening leg, while Karulf and freshman Austin Hargreaves maintained the gap heading into the final leg. Like he had all day, Toma Adam blitzed his opposition, splitting a 46.51 on the closing leg. Adam's surge proved fatal for Fordham's chances, as the senior caught and passed the Rams in the first 50 yards to secure the victory.
What's Next
The Pirates will continue the season when the squad splits on Saturday, October 17. Swimming will travel to West Long Branch, New Jersey, to take on Monmouth, while diving will remain on campus and face Colgate. Both meet times are to be announced.
