Nick Graham continued his unbeaten run across both boards against the Dragons. The junior logged his fourth sweep of the season, winning the one-meter (329.17) and three-meter boards (332.95) with relative ease.
On the one-meter board, a pair of Seton Hall divers joined Graham to log a sweep of the podium positions. Freshman Adam Klinger earned third place with a score of 264.45, while sophomore Henry Summers finished 0.45 points ahead of him in second place with a score of 264.90.
HOW IT HAPPENED - SWIMMING
As the swimming program kicked off, the Pirates found themselves at the center of a heated 400 medley relay. Despite strong opening legs from Balint Marosi, Evan Wilson, and Nimrod Koncz, the Pirates trailed the Dragons by nearly a second entering the final leg. However, Toma Adam still had something to say about that. The Romanian Rocket outsplit the opposition by over a second over the final two laps, allowing him to catch and pass Drexel at the wall to secure the meet's opening win.
Adam's winning ways didn't end with the opening relay. Adam also won the 50 freestyle in 20.60. Later, he added a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.80, tying his career-best mark from the 2024 BIG EAST Championships.
Freshman Drew DuBois added another statement win to his resume as he continued to find his role inside this Seton Hall team. The distance swimmer paced the field in the 1000 freestyle, winning the race with a season-best time of 9:24.08.
The Pirates' final wins of the day came from freshman Nimrod Koncz. Koncz led wire-to-wire to claim another dominant victory in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:48.06. Later on in the 200 IM, the Romanian recovered from poor walls on the opening leg to dominate the second half of the race. By the time he touched the wall in 1:50.48, he had built an over-two-second lead.
The tension on the pool deck became palpable as three points separated the two sides entering the final relay. Despite a strong start, the Dragons slowly built a gap over Seton Hall, handing the team its first loss of the season.
