Pirates Fall To Georgetown On Senior Night

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team (5-9-1, 1-6-0 BIG EAST) dropped its home finale on Thursday night to No. 7 Georgetown (13-1-2, 5-0-2) at Owen T. Carroll Field. The Hall will have two regular season contests remaining, both on the road.
Prior to the contest The Hall honored its senior class of Illissa Blackshear (West Orange, N.J.), Cathy Chukuka (Marlboro, N.J.), Sarah Cortes (Paramus, N.J.), Sarah Fiorino (Glen Rock, N.J.) and Frankie Maier (Oradell, N.J.). The latter four seniors all started the match, while Blackshear stopped all three shots she faced in a strong relief outing.
The two sides played an even first 40 minutes, with both sides firing two shots and trading possession for the majority of the first half. The Hoyas finally broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute with a penalty kick goal before tacking on three more in the second frame.
