OKATIE, S.C. - Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) fired a 2-over-par, 74, to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a third place standing following the first round of the 2014 BIG EAST Championship at Callawassie Island Golf Club on Sunday.
Go is tied for sixth place among 45 individual golfers trails the leader, St. John's Ben Ludlam, by four strokes with 36 holes still to play.
Collectively, Seton Hall fired a 17-over-par, 305, in round one and is in third place among the nine-team BIG EAST field. The Pirates trail the leader, St. John's, by 15 strokes. Marquette is second, 10 strokes ahead of Seton Hall.
A trio of Pirates are currently tied for 14th place following the first round of action. JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.), Derrick Kim (New City, N.Y.), and Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) each fired a 5-over-par, 77.
Senior Gary Dunne (Wicklow, Ireland) rounded out the Pirates' scoring with an 8-over-par, 80, on Sunday.
The BIG EAST Champions in both the team and individual competitions will earn automatic berths to the NCAA Championships.
The second round of the BIG EAST Championships tees off at 8 a.m. on Monday.
